welcome to Coffey House shots. I'm James Heel and I'm joined today by the

Spectators Isabel Hartman and Chris Hopkins of Savannah. Now first of all

Isabelle it's been a big day for Labour they've got the final

self-imposed deadline for NEC candidate selection and after last week when this was

very much in the headlines with Diane Abbott it seemed to sort of fizzle out

it's a story but there is some big news today which is that

Pfizer Sheen has been blocked and now resigned as a Labour member as well.

Yeah, Pfizer-Shahine had been Labour's candidate against Ian Duncan Smith in Chingford. She ran against him in the last election and ran him pretty close.

Bizarrely, I'd actually been getting targeted ads from her even though I'm in Scotland and then she

was blocked at the last minute after a meeting about some tweets that she had liked and about

some points she'd been making about Palestine and about I think corporate greed as well.

And today, the NEC, Labor's ruling National Executive Committee, which signs off rubber stamps, all candidacy

approved her not being the the labor candidate and then she as you say

released a statement on Twitter saying that she'd resigned from the Labour Party

that she was not being allowed to use her voice to speak about the issues she cared about on

Palestine and so on and that she was leaving the party. So that's her case. We've also had the approval as expected of Diane Abbott

as the Hackney North and Stote-Newington candidate for labour after the protracted row last week.
