| 0:21.0 | So I've been doing a lot of videos on sleep for quite some time. |

| 0:28.0 | I only get about six and a half hours of sleep. |
| 0:31.0 | So I wanted to do an experiment with myself. |
| 0:33.0 | So I started to get nine hours of sleep. |
| 0:36.0 | But first let's talk about what happens when you get not enough sleep, poor sleep. |
| 0:40.0 | And I'm not just talking about not enough hours of sleep. |
| 0:43.0 | I'm talking about the quality of sleep as well. |
| 0:45.0 | Well, if you get poor sleep, your immune system is going to be affected. |
| 0:49.0 | You're going to be more susceptible to getting sick. |
| 0:52.0 | Even infections. |
| 0:53.0 | Your risks for heart attacks and stroke are going to go up. |
| 0:57.0 | You're going to have altered blood sugars where you're going to be more hungry. |
| 1:00.0 | And you're going to crave things. |
| 1:02.0 | Because when you don't get enough sleep, that spikes cortisol. |
| 1:06.0 | And that alters your blood sugars. |
| 1:08.0 | And if you're already a diabetic, it's going to make things worse. |
