We're doing it one time. And until or unless there is news, that's it. This truly is the final frontier of the Tiger season. If it wasn't for the scriptwriters in Kansas City, we would have done this yesterday. But we couldn't do that. So I'm asking, I've laid out the three options.

I don't want anyone to feel like they can't call because I don't know that there's a wrong answer.

You can keep him and pay him because he's the best pitcher you're going to get your hands on because you don't have payroll liabilities long term because frankly, Javi Baez and Jack Flaherty come off the books,

and that's the scoble money long term.

It's a straight offset.

You can trade him because you ended up here.

And he's lame duck and you don't want to lose him for a comp pick.

And you trade him.

And what you get is a matter of debate,

but there would be major league

talent involved. It would have to be. Or there's choice C, which is the hybrid. You do what you've

never done before, which is be aggressive with trades, be aggressive with free agency, and you use

them for everything he's got. And then he leaves. There is no wrong answer.

This is a difficult situation.

You tell me, I am in the camp of you trade him or you pay him.

I understand both of those.

I think it's really interesting is you could send a message.

Not that that is the most important thing.

Winning is the most important thing.

But you could change the narrative around Chris Illich in this franchise if you paid him.
