Dean Oliver many years ago wrote a book called basketball and paper. It was a revolutionary book in regards to what basketball is made of and he broke the league into four factors.

And the four factors are your shooting effective field goal percentage that weighs three point shooting your turnover percentage your offensive rebounding percentage or defense of rebound percentage and the amount you go to the free throw line or the amount you keep someone off the free throw line.

Those became the four factors of the NBA. Let me save them again just quickly effective field goal percentage and effective field goal percentage weighs a three point shot to your basically points per shot.

And then the second one is your turnover percentage percentage of your possessions that are turnovers and then your offensive rebounding and your free throws or your defense.
