Remember Election Night 2018?

Democrats will take back control of the House of Representatives.

This ends the Republican monopoly in Washington. It gives Democrats power and the power to launch investigations.

CNN can now project that Democrats will win the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Jake, this is a huge win for the Democrats, a huge setback for the president and for the Republicans.

Democrats have taken control of the House representatives.

ABC News can't project.

We've also projected that the Republicans will keep control of the Senate here in the 2018

midterm elections, a split decision.

Everyone knew change was coming, and boy, were they right.

There's a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department

may indict him, that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the real

prospect of jail time. This is part of a broader pattern of potential misconduct by the

president, and it's that broad

pattern, I think, that will lead us to a conclusion about whether it rises to the level to warrant

removed from office. This president, in my estimation, has done everything possible to certainly

be eligible for impeachment.

And so I really do think that it should be started.

I think there have been a couple of attempts, certainly,

that did not, you know, win support

because the Republicans were in charge of, you know, both houses.
