2022 was a big year for climate disasters and policy, and this year promises to be a banner year as well.

There are many areas to watch, including climate-driven weather events bringing too much and too little water in the West.

You can argue you have senior water rights, but if the water's not there, it's not there.

Environmental justice efforts are finally seen some big federal backing, but will it reach frontline

communities in the ways they hope?

I also like to see that communities of color and poor communities and rural communities are not

just relegated to failing septic systems.

And when we get more water, whether it's in California or Alabama, when it gets a lot of rain. These systems

tend to fail. Meanwhile, the outlook for innovation in a new energy future looks promising.

A lot of what we see companies doing is creating what will be a better version of what we have today.
