Summary

In today’s episode, I sit down with Bradley Bostic, a longtime healthcare innovator and investor who’s using data, AI, and capital to push the entire industry toward personalization and prevention. Bradley shares how food prescriptions and microbiome testing are already making a real difference in patient outcomes, and why social connection is essential to lasting wellness. We talk about how healthcare tech can identify harmful medication overlaps before they become dangerous, and how his podcast, Boombostic Health, opened unexpected doors for connection and growth. From food deserts to functional medicine, this conversation covers what it really takes to help people feel alive, not just live longer.

It is so great to see you, David. So good to be here. So when we're at a show like this, a lot of

0:28.2

people don't know how well-infused wellness is in all different shows, but especially in our food

0:35.8

system. And there's a lot of things that people don't

0:40.1

think about that has really changed your life, your trajectory in business. What are some of the

0:46.3

things that you're doing financially to change the way people eat? Well, let me just put a really

0:53.1

fine point on that. So I used to be on the board of a

0:57.3

hospital called Escanazi Health, which is a critical access hospital in Marion County of

1:03.5

Indianapolis. And one of the things that we found was that a huge correlated factor for people who were very sick often was their food

1:16.0

supply. So people talk about food deserts and all of that. So we actually created a program that

1:21.7

was called food as medicine. And these people with families would go to the primary care doctor and the prescription instead of for

1:29.2

drugs would be for food and then we have actual groceries that are fully like clean foods that are

1:36.2

vegetables fruits and and actually have urban farms that are associated with them that we'd have a lot of

1:42.9

young people work in and then you'd go

1:45.0

in and get this better food and come to find that actually made people much more healthy.

1:50.4

So there's a huge connection.

1:52.5

And there's been a shift. Food was always medicinal. And now it actually creates this ease,

1:58.7

especially in America. And we're starting to shift that and elevate the awareness to it.

2:05.6

Now, I know you're funding things and you're actually putting capital into shifting that
