All right, Brian, and part two of the Irish Breakdown podcast today, brought to you by Fanduel. We are going to be talking about this football team as a whole, and we're going to be discussing this in two different parts. Part one, we're going to talk about what we know about this program through fall camp. And then the other side is going to be things that we don't know, not meant to be taken in a negative connotation. It's just there are just some aspects of this team that we're going to have to wait to see until August 31st,

and then it's going to be a constant evaluation as a regular season goes on of waiting to get

these questions answered. But starting off of what we do know about this team, I guess one is the

obvious one. We now know who their starting quarterback is going to be for week one, which is kind of funny because when we put together our pre-show notes, the top of the list thing of what we didn't know is who was going to start a quarterback for Notre Dame. And so then once the news broke, we had to kind of switch how we were going to do things. But at the top of this list, Brian, when we start talking about what we know, what we don't know about this team, there will be some things that are evident now that we got to see with our own eyes at fall camp.

And then there's going to be some things that we just kind of have to wait and see.

But what we do know is that this running back room sticking on the offensive side of the ball here is loaded, absolutely loaded.

Trevor, I think if this reality is accepted by the quarterback, now that we have a starter, I think it's going to make his job a lot easier.

And here's what I mean by that.

The danger when you're in a quarterback battle like this is both Kenny and CJ are going

out there thinking, I've got to do this to win the starting quarterback job.

Well, now you've won that.

Now I've got to lead the offense up and down the field.

And knowing that, hey, I got this great running back room behind me, we're going to lean on them.

My job is to do this, this, this, and this.

I don't have to put the team on my shoulders the way that I did in high school.

You don't.

And understanding that this running back room is as good as we think it is even

with the loss of keedron young who i thought was going to have a really important role in this

team you're like all right next man up you know gibran pain you know who had a touchdown

running the jersey scrimmage which you guys saw in the highlight you okay You, okay, Nolan James Jr., next man up. Neas Williams is injured. Okay, next man up. Like, you're loaded. I mean, heck, I was in the last open, no, is the second to last, maybe it was the last open practice we saw. Jake DeFelsky playing running back, a walk on. and he made a cut on an outside zone I'm like good

lord like that's your walk on running back making that cut you you this is a great room running game and

pass game wise so get out of the I've got to win a quarterback battle mindset and get into I've got to
