So this week, we're doing something slightly different because we just talked in a couple of episodes about the beasts of shall we die back in the 17th century.

You know, excuse me, 18th century.

18th century.

Pardon me.

And so we left the tag in where we're going to talk about some of the possibilities,

some of the theories out there that people have put forth for exactly what this beast was. Because nobody's sure. Again, we don't really know for sure what the

beast was because people thought they killed the beast. They brought a carcass in,

collected a reward even perhaps, you know, in a few cases. But we're not really sure that that

was the beast. So we got several different theories here. And so Vincent, you're our lead researcher

and an expert on this mystery. Do you want to start us off on some theories? Well, let's start off

on what is kind of the most scientifically accepted theory

out there that the most skeptically endorsed theory and the most obvious one was that it was a

wolf or a pack of wolves. Yeah, I can see that. Yeah. I mean, I think there's a lot to back this up,

honestly. It's the most obvious and sensible answer. Wolves are real. They lived

in France at this time. Oh, for sure. They killed a lot of people, actually. And a lot of livestock, too.

That's true. Now, there was a panic, and when you have a panic, you can get mass hysteria.
