and with us get into our study in 2 Corinthians where on Sunday mornings we're

going through this second epistle chapter by chapter verse by verse this

after having finished 1 Corinthians and today our text will be chapter 1 verses 10

and 11 I'll ask you to turn there at this time if you haven't already and once

you do if you're able I'll ask you to stand there at this time if you haven't already and once you do if you're

able I'll ask you to stand you can follow along as I read if not that's all right

you can remain seated. The Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is writing to the church

in Corinth and says verse 10, he has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again.

On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

Let's pray if you would join with me. We'll ask God to bless this to our understanding.

Loving Heavenly Father, we need for you at this time to settle us and enable us to focus our attention upon you and your Word and that which you have for us today

here in your Word, that which you desire to minister to us and speak into our lives.

Lord, you want to give you our undivided attention. We don't want anything to distract

us or keep us from that which you have for us today. And that's why we're here, Lord. So please

speak. Your servants are listening. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen. You can be seated. Thank you. Today's teaching is part

four of a series I've titled What Trials Produce. My desire for this series is that we would

all, myself included, take from it a fresh and renewed hope,

especially during those times when we find ourselves in the midst of a trial.

Perhaps you like me have heard it said that all of us are either right smack in the middle

of a trial, we're just coming out of a trial, or we're just about to go into a trial.

Doesn't that just warm your heart, you know, when you hear something like that?

And of course it's meant to encourage you.
