We welcome into the CHO Bears podcast. What's going on, everyone? We are happy to be here. I am happy to be back from vacation. We are projecting a 53 man roster. We are all doing great with the exception of names.

Oh, Nick's pinky.

Yeah, the pinky was a casual team last night's victory. Third one for the CHO team, but look, I think this one's on me, guys. Like going up the catch a fly ball. It was high up there. I didn't connect the pinkies right and I'm trying to think how the hell did my pinky?

Literally look the opposite way because I didn't connect them like over shoulder catch to teach them football. I don't think I connect them right and that ball coming down literally took my pinky with it.

And now it's in a split and we'll see the actual severity of the injury after this podcast.

Well, let me let me jump in your home because I got to just set the scene. First of all, Nick was asked to play center field last night. We had an outfielder missing Nick's been all over the diamond playing every single position, doing everything that we've ever asked to do for the team this year. That is three and one and our only loss came on the opening week as we were getting to know each other as we build this championship season.

Nick stepping into center field last night, tough play, met on women on whoever the hell was on and two outs going back on it and just made of just a solid solid catch and then instantly doubled over in pain.

And I felt like puking, but Nicholas Moriano and Chad, I'd like to open this up to you. Toughest Bears players of all time. This dude's finger was straight sideways. He popped it back in and then did not leave the ball game.

The beautiful girlfriend Stephanie was there. She could have taken to the hospital. We could have had we had we had extras. He wasn't leaving. And in fact, he swung with one hand, multiple, you know, and is the other at bats that he had got to base him with the one hand, toughed it out and helped CHGO get a victory. So I don't know if you're, you know, tough as bears of all time.

You know, Jack Sanborn, obviously, he's got to be at the top of that list, but you know, throw Dick Puckis, Dan Hampton, whoever you want to throw, like who does Moriano remind you of with the level of toughness that he showed last night, gutting through a 16 inch softball game with a broken finger.

I appreciate that car. I wish I had my recording sunglasses. I did. So then I could show you exactly what it looked like. But yeah, Brian Baldinger, if you ever looked at his finger and how his pinky is literally his right pinky is facing the opposite direction, that was it for a second. And I kind of freaked out a little bit without even knowing or one understanding what the cons could have been. I just put it back in place because I could not look at it.

And I didn't know if it was going to hurt or not. I just said, I cannot look at this. Turned it back. And thankfully, it didn't hurt or anything. And went back to the dugout. We put a glove on it for one hand. I got tape from from the other team. So that helped to to, you know, help me get that base a little bit later.

And for the record, we'll get into our 53 man roster. But please, can we get there at some point? Yeah, that's just the last point 16 softball. I love this city. It's the dumbest game ever.

Yes, it was really hard ball that the whole city has mangled hands from, you know, they invented gloves. And they work. And now, you know, Nick, I hate to say it to you. But you know what that injury is that you have right there on that pinky. That's a for life, everybody. You will look at that for the rest of your life. They you will have a reminder of that day. And that's just stupid. But hey, go Chicago.

Like they don't play this game anywhere else. Look, I love Chicago as much as anyone. And I got my my Chicago things that I take pride in. But yeah, 16 and softball stupid.

It's just put some gloves on, play 12 inch. First of all, you can hit the ball farther in 12 inch way more fun. And your fingers don't end up looking like nicks, which I do have to say, that's the most badass story we've had in CHCO history.

I mean, guys, guys pop this finger back in.

They're swinging. I'm like Nick put it on the ground, running out. He just dinks it down to third base into the Moriano wheels.

Yeah.

By the way, right now, you should by car once again, just now, I mean, she's I'm unbelievable anyway.
