previewing Michigan against Maryland to open the Big Ten season. It's getting real now.

thanks to everyone listening on the audio feed as well uh michigan obviously dominant so far this

season non-conference schedule the ranks dead last in the country according to ESPN uh outscoring

opponents 113 to nothing in the first halves of games uh 14 of those 17 of points allowed have come in the fourth quarter.

This has been about as good as you can get regardless of the opponent.

So let's break it down, talk about Maryland and, you know, kind of what this first real test-ish is going to present.

Maryland offense, you know, can be explosive at times, has been pretty good, not living up to

expectations, according to, you know, people in college park.

What do you guys see first impressions of that Maryland offense and what they kind of bring

to the table?

I see what we usually see, right?

We see an explosive quarterback and some great receivers and guys that usually don't get it done against the better teams on the schedule.

It's a poorly disciplined team.

I think they had 15 penalties last week.

Last year they were 81st in the country in penalty yardage in a bad way guys i think it was 57 per game so

and it's higher against against better teams so this is frankly a team that michigan should beat

i think they're better coached so even when maryland came in here and won and beat brady hoke in

2014 i think they had 320 yards of offense or something like that. So I would expect Michigan to put a lot of points on the board, assuming J.J. McCarthy stays healthy, which, of course, we would expect, you know. So that offensive line needs to be better, exactly. That offensive line needs to be better protecting him, especially now with Cadeamara out. You don't really have a backup that's played significant minutes. And, you know, for all that talk that, oh, wow, you know, the backup by David Warren is better. You know, he's never played a meaningful snap in a game. That's where you need a guy like Kate McNamara in there. So, we aren't expecting that obviously but i'm looking for a little bit less read option right with j jay mccarthy

and if they do run it, tell them, get your butt down, kid, you know, slide. So, and I expect him to have a big game. I think that offense is going to put up close to 50 points this week. Yeah, they might not eclipse 50, which would be disappointing for some, given the fact that they just scored, what, 160 points in three games, whatever it was.
