Israel-Hemas war is changing shape one year in.

On October 7th of last year,

Hamas militants carried out a horrific attack on Israel,

killing nearly 1,200 people and taking 251 people hostage.

It was the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.

Since then, Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed more than 40,000 Palestinians,

including more than 16,000 children, according to Gaza's health ministry,

and millions have been displaced.

More recently, the fighting has expanded into Lebanon.

And just this week, Iran fired missiles into Israel.

We're at a tipping point right now where things could tip in one direction or the other,

with potentially severe consequences.

I feel like someone has knocked down a domino and I don't know which direction the rest of the

dominoes are going to fall. That's Zach Beacham, he's a senior correspondent at

Vox who's done a lot of deep thinking and writing about the geopolitics

around the Israel-Himmas War.
