The race is on, and while Formula One is deep into the August break, there's still

plenty going on with talk of Ferrari engine upgrades and arguments about accident damage,

as well as the opportunity to take a look at the technical development war that has raged

through the season so far.

Well, hello, Mark. Enjoying your August break?

I am, yes. The weather's nice, been getting out on the bike sometimes and I've been doing a lot of podcasting, actually.

Yeah, there's a lot.

We just can't stop talking.

That's the problem.

So, yeah, if you run out of voice towards the end of this one, that would be understandable. And Gary, from what you've just been saying, it doesn't sound like you're having much for a break. You've got all sorts of projects on the go. Oh, I've always got a few projects.

Yeah, I've started to rebuild my old 1927 Ersk and T50 tour. I've had it for about eight or nine years now and I haven't done much to it. It all runs okay, but it's time to sort of start working on it. So I've been stripping down the wheels and getting the wooden spokes out of them and taking the paint off and somebody painted them grey, I want them back to wood.

So, but fairly marrithing task to get to the spokes, to be honest, I have to say.

But it's interesting.

Different engineering altogether, but actually quite impressive engineering when you think it was

1927.

Yeah, very much going into the relatively early days, I guess, I guess.

So an interesting little part.

I guess I presume you haven't really dealt with cars of that age before.

No, not really.

It's nearly as, well, nearly as old as me, or I'm nearly as old as that, whatever you like to call it.

But, you know, whenever you think it's almost 100 years ago, you know, the detail in the engineering is quite impressive. So, yeah,
