Hey, everybody, and welcome to episode number 33.

Today we're talking about something that kind of strikes all of us at sometimes, I think. It's, what do you do when your hobby starts to kind of feel like a chore?

0:29.2

So today, we're going to cover some questions you can ask yourself to figure out why you might be in a rut

0:34.3

and the right approach for you personally to get out of it.

0:39.2

So there's not just one answer for everyone.

0:42.8

We're going to give you a whole bunch of ideas and hopefully something resonates with you.

So a few months ago, there was this post in the Seamwork community about being in a sewing rut.

Just because of all this stuff that's been going on in the world and I think we can all kind of identify with that. So what this person wrote was, it sucks because I had all these patterns cut out,

1:01.1

and I was so excited, and it feels like I'm slugging around every time I even attempt to sew a little

1:05.7

1:32.7

huge effect towards our, my sewing attitude. Do you feel like it affects yours as well?

1:39.0

1:45.5

a lot of the hands-on sewing for my job, which, I mean, it's been years since that was the case. So not so much anymore,

1:51.4

but I think it does in that. I love to sew. Like I love doing it as my hobby outside of work,

1:58.5

but I don't spend a lot of time consuming a lot of sewing-related

2:03.6

media outside of work, just because I do it a lot within my job. So that's one way where I think

2:10.1

it's different just because I have a sewing-related job. What about you? Yeah, you know, I think

2:15.6

about sewing all the time. I mean, obviously when I'm on the clock and I mean, even outside of it. So sometimes when I used to reach for sewing, I think a little bit more as like a reprieve, but maybe not as much. I've like learned that I needed other kinds of hobbies in my life to create
