We return in our story today to Genesis chapter 39 and Joseph in prison and the Lord with Joseph.

Genesis 39, verses 21 to 23, say, but the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

By the way, could I just point out to you that favor is always first Godward and then

manward? The Bible says of Jesus when he came that he increased in favor with God and with man.

Favor is always God given and it must always begin with your relationship to God. So don't start with

trying to get favor with man. God gives favor, seek the Lord.

And so in verse 22, it says, in the keeper of the prison, committed to Joseph's hand, all the

prisoners that were in the prison, and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.

The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand because the Lord was with him,

and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.
