Summary

Whether we fail or succeed in life often depends on where we get our information. Religion will tell us that to be righteous before God, we must obey the Law of Moses through our own self-effort. However, this is impossible to do without God’s help; we simply sin more. By comparison, faith in Jesus Christ puts us in right-standing with God, independent of our own efforts. Jesus was the only man who could perfectly keep all the law, and therefore, the only one who was righteous; accepting Him makes us the same way. He is the only reason we could ever be called righteous at all. Establishing ourselves in Christ gives us the knowledge that we are truly the righteousness of God, no matter what the devil says to contradict this.

0:20.5	to the book of Romans chapter 3 and we're going to look at
0:24.4	verse 20 through 31 in the new living translation. We've been talking about
0:29.4	righteousness and we've been trying to convince people to understand that we are righteous because of Jesus,
0:37.2	not because of what we do.
0:39.6	If you subtract Jesus from the equation, we wouldn't be able to be righteous but because of
0:44.5	Jesus we have been made the righteousness of God. Well this morning I want to
0:50.3	talk to you about you know, what happens when your righteousness is under attack?
0:56.9	And what I mean by this is, most of this is going to be emotionally, internally. What happens when you declare I'm the righteousness of God?
1:06.0	I believe I'm righteous because of Jesus.
1:08.0	And then, you know, you just have all of this doubt that hits your mind and you know you start looking
1:14.8	around and wondering if this is right and your righteousness is under attack.
1:19.4	You miss the mark and and you're trying to stand up and say you know I'm still the
1:24.2	righteousness of God but you feel dirty you feel just like this is just not you
1:30.0	know so what do we do how do we respond when righteousness is under attack well first
1:36.6	of all let's study this out together and and really just take some time with
1:40.4	Romans 320 through 31 and let's look at this Romans chapter 3 verse 21
1:46.6	he says for no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands.
