How do I respectfully decline participating in family traditions that clash with our faith?

Well, if it's his side, he should have the conversation.

If it's her side, she should have the conversation.

And sometimes, you know, you marry someone who loves Jesus and their family.

I don't know, they're Muslim, they're Hindu.

You know, they're in a cult like

Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormonism. You're like, we love you. And we can do life together,

but we can't do faith together. And there needs to be a demarcating line there. And so I think

it is absolutely perfectly fine. You've got to live according to conviction and conscience. It's like, hey, we want to make sure that, you know, grandpa's saying the Hindu prayer over the grandkids. No, no, we're not doing that. We pray to Jesus. We're Christians. We're not inviting demonic spirits on the grandkids. We're not doing that, you know. And so I would say,

because you can even clash like Jewish and Christian. Like, oh, you should. Yeah. We just saw

wedding recently that it was like a gigantic explosion over something where it should be pretty

common language. Well, but sometimes people, they're so committed to their religion that they're trying to

impose it on family members. And Christianity is a religion of invitation, not imposition.

You know, we invite you into a relationship with Jesus, but we can't impose a relationship with Jesus on you.

Some religions like Islam, it's a religion of imposition.

That's the whole heart of jihad, you know, convert or die.

Those are your options.

And so if you're dealing with somebody that more is a religion of imposition and the cults are like that, too.

They're very heavy-handed and pressuring.

Just say no. Because at the end of the day, like we talk about in the leave and cleave family

systems, like if they want you to be ammashed with their religious faith, you're like, no,

we need to differentiate. You have your faith. We have our faith. They're different.
