I'm Gaelin Drueck.

It's been three days since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade.

More states now have abortion bans in place, protesters have taken to the streets, and

reactions have rolled in from across the political spectrum.

We're going to talk about all that, along with the preliminary polling data on how Americans

are reacting to the decision.

The data suggests they don't support it by a significant margin as was the case before

the opinion was released.

And new polling from CBS and UGov suggests Americans now support making abortion legal

on the federal level by a 16 point margin.

And of course, the Supreme Court is still in the process of wrapping up its term.

Monday morning it released another notable opinion, siding with the public school football

coach who prayed on the field after games.

Last week the Court also struck down New York's gun restriction requiring people to show

a special need for carrying a handgun in public in order to receive a permit.

We'll discuss briefly how that ruling could shape gun laws, and also how a 30 year federal

impasse on gun control measures came to an end this weekend when President Biden signed

the bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

Perhaps it is a sign of the times that that news is coming this far down in the intro this

morning.

And of course, there are also more elections to talk about this week.
