I'm Kimberly Atkins' store, and this is on point.

On February 3rd, just before 9pm, a Norfolk Southern train derailed as it passed through

the town of East Palistheno, Ohio, a small community of about 5,000 residents on the border

with Pennsylvania.

The train was more than 1.7 miles long, 150 rail cars in total.

Most were full of harmless goods, but 20 rail cars contained toxic chemicals, and 11

of those went off the tracks and emptied onto the ground, into the water, and burned off

in billows of black smoke.

And now, nearly three weeks later, residents are concerned about their health and frustrated

with the lack of answers.

I came outside and I could see right away the main fire at the end of the street.

I saw a scene all the smoke. The black smoke came out of East Palistheno, and you could stand

at my house and see it.

The bellow that came up, and it came down like a cloud, like a big black cloud.

It smelled like burnt almonds or vanilla.

It smells like a sweet smell.

A sweet smell.

After a while, my head would start to hurt, or my nose would run, and dirt would burn,

and then we knew that it was time to get out of town as fast as possible.

I'm very frustrated.

We don't think they're taking care of all the pollution that they should be.

We pass all of the creeks, and there's crew after crew with white hoses and black
