Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead dies from a haunted time

His voice would fill the airwaves as millions of dead heads mourned

You know, The Grateful Dead, I'm not a big grateful dead face

But I try to understand why people have success, why people have an audience, why people have connection with an audience

And I try to tell my kids, you know, what's amazing is how often an artist is not appreciated in their time

And later is considered perhaps the greatest at what they do

And we see this in music so often because at the time of the creation of the art

there may not be a commercial audience for that or critical reception of it

But in time it grows to the point that it is considered the best of its era

Which is fascinating to me because at the moment of completion you have how hopes for your art, for your work, a film, an album

And it doesn't happen

And years later it's considered absolutely groundbreaking

But in time it would be in time it would be named one of the greatest movies of all time

And there are lots of movies like that

As I said I'm not a dead head
