While I still think the chances of some sort of coup,

and this was not a coup, attempts certainly,

but chances of some sort of wall were very low prior to the events in the last few days,

I think they're a little higher now.

It was a heck of a weekend in Russia.

There was an insurrection, kind of a coup, sort of a column of troops,

led by Wagner, Chieftain, Yavgini Prigozhin,

marched toward Moscow from Rustov on Don, threatened the destabilization of the Putin regime,

and then in a sudden backflip, everybody stood down,

and the whole thing was resolved in a weird deal between the Russian president and the renegade mercenary.

It was like a thing out of the movies, and we figured we would get our Russia crew together to talk it all through,

joining me in the virtual jungle studio was Alina Poliakova, president of the Center for European Policy Analysis,

Cybersecurity, Guru, and LawFair, contributing editor Matt Tate,

and Demetri Alparovic of the Silverado Policy Accelerator.

It was a really interesting conversation, we covered a lot of ground.
