Oh, okay, so we're just gonna come right out of the gate with it because today's job's numbers deserve an air horn.

428,000 jobs were added to the US economy in April and unemployment stayed at 3.6%,

which is one of the lowest in recent memory.

Not too shabby, America, not too shabby.

Adding to the good news in the jobs report, there was more news that workers were welcome from another report that dropped earlier in the week.

That report was the job openings and labor turnover survey, also known as the Joltz report.

And just like in the previous few months, in March, there were nearly two job openings for every unemployed person.

There are just a lot of ads for jobs if you look online or in your local newspaper. It is at record levels.

And the numbers do tell an intriguing story.

But I think to really understand what's going on in this moment and to really understand just how much employers cannot hire fast enough,

it might help to look at a picture.

A chart actually.

The chart is for the beverage curve.

It's this thing named after a British economist named William Beverage. And well, this curve has completely shifted from where it was pre-pandemic.

It is an overdrive.
