0:40.3 | I think we lost seven seats, although some of that may be disputed, but close to seven seats in the House. |
0:47.4 | But we had a very comfortable margin to begin with. |
0:50.3 | My hopes on Election Day were that we would hold the Senate so that if we ended up with Hillary |
0:56.3 | Clinton as president, we could stop her from controlling the courts. |
1:00.6 | In point of fact, I was surprised, pleasantly surprised, when Trump was able to win in Florida, |
1:09.2 | Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. |
1:11.9 | Iowa had looked good for some time. |
1:13.8 | But I mean, I had just been looking at the normal polling data |
1:16.6 | and seeing that the polling data showed Hillary ahead |
1:20.6 | in all the key states you need to win, |
1:24.3 | and that the ground game was reportedly so much stronger for Hillary than for Trump. |
1:32.4 | And that lastly, that there'd been this outpouring of votes that were assumed to be Democrat |
1:38.9 | votes. |
1:39.9 | So not just the polling numbers, but the establishment press was saying, oh, look at all the turnout in Florida. |
