He pre-recorded a fake White House correspondent speech that included an assassination joke about

Trump. Let's take a listen. Our first lady, Melania, is here. Look at it. So beautiful. Mrs. Trump,

you have a glow like an expectant widow.

Okay, so hours later, a real gunman attempted to assassinate Trump at the real dinner. The timing is not

evidence of causation. Kimmel didn't plan it, but it is evidence of the cultural environment

that produces this kind of violence and entertainment establishment

so comfortable with the death of a political opponent as a comedic device that it's treating

assassination as a punchline.

This same time someone is actually planning to execute it.

This is what I've been talking about for this whole show.

At some point in time, and look, as conservatives and people in conservative media

have been talking about this for years and years and years.

But at some point in time, it's going to have to be people from within the Democrat Party,

from within the liberal media that stand up and take ownership of this and say

this is something we can't do anymore. And look, I'm going to give credit to a Democrat right now,

Representative Marie Glowsonkamp, she's a U.S. member of Congress from the state of Washington,

she tweeted out immediately following the White House Correspondence dinner. Please stop trying to murder the

president. That is what we need more of. Not both sides need to tone down the rhetoric. Not well,
