Where is your perfect place to walk?

Hi, I'm Dave. Welcome to Walking is Fitness, a daily 10-minute podcast designed to provide you with a little added motivation to get out the door and take the walk.

Today's 10-minute walk starts right after this.

Day two in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and I'm again walking early in the morning before sunrise.

This time though, unlike yesterday, I'm paying attention to where I'm actually walking.

I've been here before, visiting my daughter and five grandchildren.

Her husband right now is part of a snow removal crew in Virginia, so he's not here.

But I'm not super familiar with the layout of this community,

this neighborhood. It, to me, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And yesterday I wasn't paying

attention. Left the house, recorded the episode, was enjoying the walk the walk finished walked a little bit

more turned around headed back to the house or so I thought at one point I'm

walking down the road looking around thinking this doesn't look familiar this doesn't look familiar.

This doesn't look like what I remember.

And grateful for the Maps app on my phone, pulled it up, and I was like, nope, wrong road,

and had to double back and probably added another 15 minutes to my walk yesterday.

So this morning, this morning I'm paying attention.

I'm not going to let the same thing happen today.

So one of the things that I did yesterday with my daughter, Grace, and five grandchildren, Judah Samson Stevie Joy a little girl and Savannah is we went to Turkey Creek Park in

Niceville Florida and they've got this really nice boardwalk.

Three quarters of a mile.

So you go up and back, it's a mile and a half walk.

And it winds through what they describe as a flood plain forest.
