Because South Carolina is an awful long way to go to not run for friends.

And we're joined here in the studio by KCBS Insider Filmetter and former Mayor Willie Brown.

So, gentlemen, he won't commit to it yet, but why go to South Carolina?

Well, obviously, he has some place to go where he's going to be accepted. He has trouble out here.

Well, the mayor's got a really good point. The governor does have trouble out here. When he shows up here,

people asking about the gas prices, about the utilities, about home insurance, about fire safety, about the homeless.

And about eggs. Yes, yes. And about eggs. You go to South Carolina, you get to talk about national

things, which is much more comfortable for politicians. They used to be, you know, you'd go on

sister city trips. He doesn't have sister know, you'd go on sister city trips.

He doesn't have sister cities, so he goes on sister states.

He's doing a good job, frankly.

What's the message that he's trying to send out there?

Well, there's nobody else, no competition at the moment,

because Kamala still hasn't made up her mind on the governor,

so she can't be worrying about the presidency, now are performing in that category.

And then there's just nobody else.

You know, you look all over the country.
