0:11.8	Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101. Today we're going to be responding to a video that was just released by Apologya Radio.
0:22.1	Some of you listened probably to a broadcast I did a few weeks back in response to Apologia Radio with James White when they had the Mormon Apologist on who was critiquing both James White and Jeff Durbin for believing in
0:40.6	exhaustive predestination of all things, i.e. determinism, which is the compatibilistic view of
0:48.3	the Calvinistic worldview, which is what we're going to go over today, because we're going to look at
0:52.4	Apology or Radio's response to that video and the
0:55.9	critique behind that video because this is a hot button topic, obviously, this is something that
1:02.3	people push on. And obviously, for me, I think determinism puts Christianity at a detriment
1:10.5	to people like this Mormon apologist because I think determinism puts Christianity at a detriment to people like this Mormon apologist
1:13.7	because I think we have a much stronger, more robust apologetic when we don't tie determinism
1:20.4	around our necks like the Calvinistic, compatibilistic worldview has done. And so you give the
1:26.7	upper hand to other religious groups like
1:30.9	Mormons or any group, atheists, it doesn't matter who you're debating. If you adopt a concept or
1:39.5	idea that God determines all things that come to pass in the way that the deterministic system holds to
1:46.0	that we will examine here in just a minute from Calvinism, then you put yourself at a detriment in
1:51.7	apologetics. Your theology will drive your methodology and how you do apologetics and how you
1:57.5	approach apologetics will be affected by what you believe about these kinds of things.
2:02.1	And I think that'll play itself out pretty clearly here.
2:04.2	So today we're going to ask the question, what's wrong with Apology to Radio's Theodicy?
2:09.3	What is Theodicy?
2:10.2	It's the problem of evil, the problem of suffering.
