Summary

America’s bizarre distinctions in how two human appetites are treated—sex and money.  With sex, anything that two consenting adults chose to do is viewed as nobody else’s business. Anything at all!  With money, even if two consenting adults agree to a certain job at a specific hourly rate, the government steps in to insist that employer must pay employee a minimum amount.  With sex, if one party decides not to deliver to another, not only is that fine but the other, the ‘buying’ party can be destroyed for even suggesting the deal to the reluctant ‘seller’.  With money, if one party, say, a baker, decides not to deliver to another party, the government steps in and punishes the reluctant seller.  Why hotel rooms in liberal cities are so expensive. What did Frank Sinatra/Ava Gardner, Clark Gable/Carole Lombard & Spencer Tracy/Katherine Hepburn have in common? School sex-ed, yes but gun-ed, no? Four revolutions that changed our world. Thanks for being part of the show. And today we're going to, in this episode, we're going to take a look and start off at,

1:05.0

let's start off with something that interests, I think, everyone, sex and money. That's right.

1:12.0

And let's also ask ourselves, how have so many Americans been indoctrinated and propagandized to believe that big business is a far bigger threat than big government.

1:30.3

That's right.

1:31.0

Why do so many people believe that big government, that's good.

1:38.6

The bigger, the better.

1:40.4

But big business.

1:42.6

Now that's another story. And without even delving into anything deep,

1:50.0

it puzzles me because it's so simple on the surface. Just think about it. Your independence is

1:57.3

tied to your bank account. If you've got a few dollars in your pocket, you walk with a spring in your step.

2:03.7

If you have a few dollars in your pocket, you are more independent of others and of government and of everybody.

2:11.3

But what happens?

2:13.8

What happens if government grows and grows, and don't forget, government has the capacity to remove your money from your pocket by force. It's coercive.

2:28.0

Business only has the capacity of reaching into your pocket with your permission.

2:35.0

If business doesn't supply the goods and services that you really want, you won't pay, you won't buy them, and the business goes out of business.

2:44.0

That's one of the big differences. Surely that suggests that the government is a greater threat to freedom than business is?

2:53.3

Well, yes, obviously, but unfortunately, that's just not how people see it.
