Hi, it's Diane. On my mind, Greenland. Most of the island is covered in ice, and until recently, it was best known for its icebergs and polar bears.

But climate change has changed the equation

and thrust Greenland into the middle of global politics.

Donald Trump has repeatedly said he'd like to buy the territory.

And last week at a news conference, he said taking military action to acquire

it was not off the table. Can you assure the world that as you try to get control of these areas,

you are not going to use military or economic coercion?

No, I'm not going to commit to that.

Well, Diane, it's always hard to know with President

elect Trump how serious he is, but his words do matter.

And Greenland, which, as your listeners will know,

is part of Denmark, has also become increasingly independent

in recent years and increasingly more of strategic

interest, both with climate change and with increased interest by Russia and China in the region.

Now, why is that? Why is that? Well, Greenland in many ways is the Arctic gateway to North America
