I don't know if you know this, but I'm a little bit older than you guys,

and so things were a little bit different when I was in college, and they are for you now.

And so I want you to know that this is what the listening experience was like for me back then.

This was my iPod back then or my iPhone.

Whatever you held hold music on now, this is where I

held my music. This is called a CD wallet. And so here's the deal. If you heard a song that you

liked, what you had to do, what I had to do is I had to go out to a store, and if there was one song that I liked, I would have to buy the entire CD in order to get that one song.

So I would go out, and if it was a good day and there was a sale going on, I would pay about $12 to get that one song and a bunch of other songs I didn't really want to listen to.

If it was a bad day and it wasn't on sale, I would spend about $17 to get that one song

that I really, really wanted.

That is the way the listening experience would work and I would get all of my CDs and I

would put them into the CD case.

And if I was flying on a trip, I had to figure out a way to pack this whole thing in my suitcase.

And so if I wanted the different songs that I wanted to listen to, if I was going to listen

to them, I would have to pack the entire CD in my CD wallet in order for me to have them.

Now, things changed in 2001 because in 2001 the first iPod came out and it was a marvel

because the first iPod allowed you to store 1,000 songs in the same place.

That's not impressive to you.

I'm not surprised.

2003 came in Apple iTunes,

hit the market.
