Elderly people are the worst at this. They'll tell you they have no significant medical

history. Then when you look at their notes, you find out they've had three strokes, two heart

attacks, and a touch of bowel cancer. That's why I always go with, have you ever had to go to

the hospital or something to that effect? No question is truly foolproof, but that one at least

is general enough that you might

get more info than you need, rather than less.
