I know we have several degrees of Kevin Bacon, you and I, yet we've never actually had a chance to sit down, you know, chop it up like this. Yeah, well, and it's, you were, the original plan was you were going to hop over on OSA, but due to various technical difficulties and stuff like that, we had to postpone, but I think this worked out. I think it's good that you're coming on the show today. But for people are not familiar with your work, who are you? What do you do? Where can they find what you're working on?

Well, thank you. Well, you know, I'm a man who wears many hats. I'm a comic book YouTuber. I'm a podcaster. People might very well know my work from some of the shows I've been a part of in the past. Elseworld's Exchange was Sal from Comic Pop, the old comic book cast from back in the day, the comic multiverse, the show I do with Matt from Fortress of Solitude.

I also do weekly review. Pop, the old comic book cast from back in the day, the comic multiverse, the show I do with

I also do weekly review videos, kind of pitch sessiony videos, that sort of thing.

You know, I'm just working away at it.

I've recently had a big channel overhaul.

Again, South from Comic Pop, our mutual friend was was a big big supporter of that big booster

and me you know trying to you know kind of up my game for 2026 that also included hey do do the

interview circuit joel you used to know everyone on comic youtube now you've become a weird recluse

get out there too yeah get out hi. Shake some hands. Kiss some babies.

I think we're having a good conversation today because what we're going to do is a little bit of a state of the union of comics because for people that either are not familiar with this show or have not checked out

in a while, I'm a regular comic book reader. I go to my shop at least once a month and pick up

my poll list. But due to life and having a baby and stuff like that, I have to be kind of picky with what I pick up. And so there's a lot of, and here's, I'll, Joel, I'll let you know some of my rules. And if the audience doesn't know, here are some of my rules. Because, you know, if I let myself, I'll buy everything. So some of the rules I've established over the years is I don't pick up event books. I just decided I'm not going to pick up an event book if I let myself, I'll buy everything. So some of the rules I've established over the years is I don't pick up event books.

If I hear later that it's awesome, I will go pick up the trade.

And I'll tell you why I don't pick up event books because events can be hit or miss.

But I remember I picked up King and Black. And within an opening act of like the first issue of King and Black, they're like, hey, remember all those Cree ships that were left in space from the event three months ago? Yes, I do remember vividly. You were going to use those, blow those up to try and stop Nolan. I'm like, you can't remind me that you just had a big world ending event three months ago.

Wasn't that crazy? And in my mind, I'm like, oh, hey, they remembered empire happened. Yeah. And I was, so I was like, you know what? That was the moment. I'm like, no more events for me. I'm just not going to pick up events. So that's a rule that I have.

I also don't, and when I say I don't pick these books up, I'm talking about like month in, month out.

I don't pick up Batman. I don't pick up Spider-Man. You know why? Because they don't need my money. Those books will do fine without me. Yeah, they don't eat. Moonnight, Moon Knight's my boy. Moonnight might not, Moon Night's doing fine right now. Right now, but that wasn't always the case. People really got behind Moon Night and Jane McKay in a crazy way.
