It's three minutes after ten, and I'm going to forget probably on six or seven occasions today that it's Tuesday, as opposed to Monday.

So bear with. Can we do this? I don't know. Do you think we can do this? We are all victims of footballification. If the bloke what invented it as a phrase is a victim of it, then what hope is there for everybody else?

Footballification, footballification, if you're not familiar with the concept,

is the idea that you are so blindly loyal to your own team that you cannot admit any wrongdoing on their behalf and you are

adamant that the other lot are appalling.

And I think in a way we all suffer from it.

It's easy to see it in football.

I catch myself occasionally shouting at the referee when I'm at Kidaminsster Harriers.

And even though I'm pretty clear that our lad was banged to rights, you sort of suggest that he should have gone to spec savers or something like that.

Happily, I don't think I've got, I haven't been at it long enough or invested deeply enough to be, and the stakes that Kitty play for.

Very recent rare exception are rarely high enough to get truly, truly in passion.

But you see it on the telly.

If you don't follow football, you've caught a glimpse of it on the telly.

The face is contorted with rage and hatred, anger, fury.

And the minute the final whistle goes, 80% of those people will be back to completely normal and placid existences.

But there is something about loyalty to your team colours.

I suppose, I'm possibly over-egging this particular pudding.

But hey-ho, I haven't been on air for three days.

It's like I get a backup of verbiage.

It's how wars happened, isn't it? Why are you going to go and risk your life for? Just because the king's falling out with his cousin, the Kaiser, in the First World War, or Henry V, wants to co-op some bigger bits of France. Why am I going to go and risk my life for that? Well, I've been persuaded to hate the French or I've been persuaded to hate the Germans, just like I've been persuaded to

hate the other team. And I think that British politics, post-Brexit and in the run-up to Brexit,

is the most footballified it has ever been. I think it's very sad. I think it's inevitable.
