I am delighted to be joined today by Dr. Brett Weinstein, who is an

evolutionary biologist and host of the Dark Horse podcast. And Brett, you are somebody I can talk to

a lot of things about. You seem to cover a lot of subjects. But I thought I'd start by asking you

about the Diorian Gap, which is an area

of Panama that has become a focal point for America's migrant crisis, because it seems a lot of

people are getting through there, even though it appears to be impenetrable in many parts.

For our listeners who don't know, can you just start with your trip to the Darien Gap,

while you went there and what's going on?

Well, sure.

Maybe I should just tell you what the Darien Gap is.

There is a highway, the Pan American Highway,

that runs from Prudo Bay, Alaska, all the way to the southern tip of South America.

It is unbroken,

but for a 60-mile stretch at the border between Panama and Columbia. That is the so-called
