I am so excited to be here with you who I think is better than Good on the Good Place. That's very kind of you. It's such a great show and this is such a great podcast. It's an unusual half hour of American network television in the good place.

I feel like it's pulled the wool over like how did we how did he do this. Yeah. He essentially you know Mike sure brought this idea that not only is like lost meets a comedy show but then

is really about these bigger concepts about how to be a good human being. It's all snuck in there and I don't think anyone's caught on.

I don't think I don't think that they know yet. Yeah. You're the first to mention it. So I think that this is the first we're hearing it. You're a creator of a shows you've you've

been sold many many things. This would be a difficult thing to sell in the room. You know I think what's so interesting about it is you I think as an audience member you were

led in the same way that probably Mike sold the show which was like here it is you die this is heaven you know and all the twists and then all the turns and all the ideas that come

after it you pack that in later just get people psyched with the idea like oh what's going on in heaven right the deal it's a

sensibly high concept right like it's a it takes place in the afterlife and they go for this is interesting like this yeah Mike sure is done a

bunch of great shows for us absolutely like we want to see the heaven show track record is definitely a factor in it right the fact that he's done so many things that he doesn't have to explain all

that yeah and I do believe that it is a that concept in general which is not the show the show is not that I think that's the best part about it and what I

kind of tell people when they watch the show is you have to just like sit back relax and like four or five episodes and you'll start to see

there are things that play here and then the whole reveal at the end of the first season is great you're your your jaw drops and it just

continues to kind of unfold and build out in this way that you know it's not about looking at the top of the staircase is like just looking at one

stare at a time so by the time you're the top right wait that's what it started yeah okay yeah sure you've forgotten it I find myself I love that people

that there are folks that haven't seen the show yet and I love the opportunity to introduce the show to them and the first thing I always say is

Google nothing right don't read a single thing about it just get started because a you maybe turned off because you make it like oh heaven that's

cute or whatever and dismiss it but also I would guess three clicks in and you are realizing that you know things are not as they initially seem well I will tell you this to

I put this show on around Christmas time after I've seen pretty much the first and second season and showed it to my parents who went bananas for it and I feel like that's

a great kind of it's great when you can enjoy it from a bunch of different perspective for sure on the other end of that age spectrum to I get approached by

like kids seven and eight years old very familiar with the television program yeah yeah see I love that but yeah you have to sit down and watch it is like
