Welcome back to the Essential Football podcast. I'm Daniel Kahn and I'm joined by senior reporter Rob Dorset and football journalist Adam Bate.

This is a Midlands Premier League special. We're going to discuss what's going on with Wolves, Notting Forest, Lester and Aston Villa.

The four Midlands clubs currently occupy four of the bottom five places in the league.

Not great reading, but I think it's fair to say they will have their unique circumstances,

which will look into.

Why don't we get straight into it?

Guys, let's start with the two teams that played on Tuesday night.

Let's begin with the Wolves. They lost two-one to Crystal

Palace after taking the lead with an Adam-a-Triori header. They're currently 17th. Adam,

what's gone on with Wolves this season? Well, they haven't scored any goals. That's the big problem.

They did score last night, so that was a big step forward. But yeah, another defeat. I think there are problems, mainly they're in front of goal, but the margins

have been quite fine. I think it's worth saying that, that they weren't terrible against Palace,

that they led and they lost. They led at Leeds on the opening weekend, and they lost. They led

at home to Newcastle on the final minute and so Max Mann scores

Premier League goal of the month. So there
