Today we are going to be talking about Iran and a possible peace deal in the offing. And I'm delighted to be joined to talk about this

for all Americano listeners. But as well as writing very knowledgeably about tech, Jeffrey also writes quite a lot

about China. And the reason I want to talk to you today, Jeffrey, is because while there is

a so-called memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US, between the negotiators on both sides, and there seems to be progress going on

that front. There's a rather underreported, perhaps, story about what China is doing vis-a-vis

Iran, because there was a meeting between the Chinese foreign minister and the Iranian

foreign minister this week. China has made it very, very clear that it

wants the straight to be reopened. And it looks as though China is going to try and take credit

for resolving the conflict. You've written about this for us before. Can you give us your read

of what you think is going on with Iran and China

and America at the moment, particularly as Donald Trump is about to visit Beijing at the end of
