Three minutes after 10 is the time. And today is a day for an explainer. You'll be relieved,

no doubt, to learn that I won't be attempting to do the explaining

myself, or at least not the bulk of it. But how many times have I sat here? Often I think on a

Monday morning, I don't know why. Perhaps something settles in the mind over the course of a nice

relaxing weekend, and it means that we join each other on a Monday morning with a slightly

different agenda or a slightly

different perspective, perhaps, on the morning's events.

But it is one of those days where I find myself reflecting on how little we know about what

is beneath the bonnet of our daily lives.

You know, we're familiar with headlines. Not everybody follows

the media very closely or indeed even at all. But you probably know the name of your energy

supplier, right? Unless like me, you live in a household where there's only one adult.

No, don't chuckle like that. That's pathetic.
