Good morning. It is three minutes after 10 and you are listening to James O'Brien on LBC.

Allegations, accusations surrounding, or directed at Russell Brand continue to surface

and dominate much of our news coverage. Obviously, we have to be very careful what we,

well, not so much what we can and can't say on air, but what we, what you

can and can't say on air. And if you come on the show and, uh, and commit a libel, it isn't

you that gets sued. It's me or indeed LBC. So it's tempting though that probably is from your

side of the microphone. It's definitely not tempting from mine. I am drawn to the conversation

that while recognizing the

seriousness of the accusations and the vulnerability of the women coming forward, the nature

of the defense or the nature of the response and the repeated denials speaks of an almost

an alternate universe, which one writer in the Times today describes as a haven

haven't really been following where Russell Brand has gone in the last few years.

But my goodness me, I've had a crash course in it this morning.

And we may explore that side of the story a little later in the program, but frankly, you have to persuade me that I can trust you to remain on the right side of both both libel laws and other considerations um it is obviously the morning upon which we sit here and slap ourselves around the face with a wet kipper in fact we should probably form a circle and take it in terms of I'll go first I'll slap myself around the face with a wet kipper. As I glance to my far right, there is a woman standing behind a lectern who automatically, when you see that image, brings two thoughts to mind.

The first is, that is a disgrace in reference to the fact that Britain imports quite a lot of cheese from cheese producing countries.
