Summary
Unionized Starbucks workers are still without a contract after more than a year of bargaining. Both the company and the union say it’s the other side holding up negotiations at the bargaining table. Today, we'll hear from a founding member of the union representing workers there. Plus, consumer inflation is moving the wrong way. The consumer price index released this morning showed prices up 2.9% annually in August. We'll discuss.

| 0:40.1 | Well, we are seeing prices accelerate, and that is really hard. |
| 0:43.5 | We're seeing prices that are the most sensitive to tariffs go up the most. |
| 0:47.6 | We saw durable goods prices go up. |
| 0:50.1 | Those are those big-ticket durable goods items and most sensitive to the first rounds of tariffs. |
| 0:55.5 | Those rose at their fastest pace since November of 2022. |
| 0:59.8 | That was back when we were still dealing with the worst of the pandemic-induced inflation. |
| 1:05.1 | Now, our central bankers are meeting next week, and the betting had been definitely – they're going to lower interest rates a little bit in middle of next week. |
