Well, Halloween is upon us, which means it's time to delve into the science of the creepy and crawley.

And there's no better item in nature that is creepy and terrifying than the idea of zombies.

And I know, I know what you're thinking.

Zombies are so yesterday. They're on the decline.

The Walking Dead is over. But zombies in the animal kingdom are more terrifying than these zombies in

science fiction and pop culture. You don't have to take my word for it. You can listen to this

He's a writer at Wired in his first book called The Waspast That Brainwashed the Caterpillar,

vaulted him into this area of exploring all the forms of zambism that exists in the animal kingdom,

from funguses that take over ants to obviously wasps,

that take over caterpillars, to viruses that take over our human brains,

and even the, sorry, Adam,

and even worms that migrate from fish to bird back to fish.
