respect and learned a lot from. And that is Dr. Bruce Bugby. Welcome, sir. Thank you, Scottie.

Hey, right on, man. First off, if they don't know you, all over YouTube, but tell people about

yourselves, please. Give yourself a proper introduction.

So I'm a professor at Utah State University. I've been here quite a long time, many,

many years. My background is plant physiology, and that's like a human physiologist studies blood pressure and how do you

determine the health of a person based on metrics like that. And we do a lot of work with high-tech

instruments like we literally measure pressures in plants in real time to tell the health of plants,

much way a human doctor would measure pressures in humans.

So that's my broad background.

I've been funded by NASA for over 40 years to study plants in space.

We've worked with plants in space and how to grow them in very, very high input environments

with zero discharge.

So 10 years ago, growers said, gosh, could we help support your laboratory to do research

on cannabis of low THC cannabis, also called...

I find that funny.

And the answer was no, the university couldn't work on this because it was still illegal

federally.

But in 2018, when low-th-th THC, also called hemp, as it was legal, then we could

accept their financial support, and we started a cannabis research program. And we were

able to make a lot of progress because we got lots of infrastructure.
