When I asked Dahlia Shindlin what it felt like to be Israeli right now, she said a couple of things.

First, it's hard to sleep.

You know, there's so much adrenaline, there's so much action also at night and then everybody's worked up in tents and so it's I sleep, but you know not a lot.

Dahlia is a political scientist and a columnist at Haaretz in Tel Aviv.

She's been going out into the massive protests that have been royally in the country for 12 weeks now.

Thousands of people have flooded the streets, waving Israeli flags, demanding Benjamin Netanyahu's governing coalition, abandoned its attempt to reform the Israeli judiciary.

An estimated 300,000 citizens marching Saturday, many are ledging the plan is a power grab that could make Israel an autocracy more like Turkey or Russia.

We all have to fight for our rights because of the plans of Benjamin Netanyahu that want to turn this nation into a dictatorship.

This week marked a kind of crescendo for these protesters as unions ordered much of the country to go on a general strike.

That shuttered businesses all around Israel.

Well, yeah, I mean, today was definitely, you know, the most intensive because the any video because so much such a major swath of the economy was completely on strike.

We didn't have planes taking off today, you know, within a minute of the head of our major labor union, he stood root announcing that the he stood root was joining the general strike, but there are no more flights taking off.

So for Dahlia, being Israeli now means being tired, being inconvenienced, but it also means a strange kind of solidarity.

All kinds of people have turned out to make their opinions known soldiers, doctors, young people, old people, hundreds of thousands of them.
