She's heard them say homeless people are too lazy to work.

She's heard them say homeless people are just looking for money for drugs.

So, it's a lot of mostly the same thing, it's like a recording on loop, right?

Sometimes Claudine hears these kinds of sentiments from friends, sometimes from elected officials.

That's when, if she can, she'll toss them a conversational bomb.

I get offended, I have a smile on my face, and then I let them know.

I may not look like it, but I've been one of those people.

It was 15 years ago that Claudine ended up on the street.

She actually lived in her car for a while, then the repo man came.

The main thing Claudine remembers from that time is how invisible she felt.
