I asked Aya Betrawi, who reports on the Middle East for NPR, to come on the show and explain this video to me.

It was shot in Gaza by a paramedic.

There are no people in this video, not up close anyway. Instead, all you see is the road in front of you, which looks like it goes on forever.

You're riding in an ambulance, looking through the windshield. There's a fire truck, a whole lot of flashing lights. It's dark.

They were going to rescue people in Rafa because a ground invasion had just been launched into Raffa and people were being shot as they were trying to flee on foot and there were

air strikes and so they were going there to save people. So the convoy is rolling and then what happens?

And then they're out, some of them are outside of the convoy already.

You can see them in their reflective gear.

And then you hear gunshots, this steady stream of gunshots being shot towards them and them running for cover.
