The Biden administration has made electric vehicles a top priority. The administration wants half

0:39.5

of all new vehicles sold to be electric by 2030. Some states like California are setting bolder

0:46.0

targets while some other states appear to be moving in the opposite direction. Last month the bill

0:52.7

was introduced in North Carolina that can only be described as well. The most anti electric car bill to date.

1:01.6

Yeah, it's a pretty wild bill. I'd be looking at it if you read it and almost you think it was

1:06.7

fiction or something at first. That's Ryan Cornell. He's at Arizona State University School of

Sustainability. He's got a really cool title. Senior Global Future Scientist. Here's what he has to

1:45.0

have it so that if you provide chargers, you also need to provide gas stations, which seems

1:51.0

pretty much something that's not feasible. I don't know of any restaurants that would want to

1:55.8

put in a gas station out in front of it. Electric vehicles are almost almost mainstream as

2:04.7

battery technology advances and gets cheaper and the price of gas goes up. The impediments like

2:12.2

range anxiety and costs are beginning to disappear. Ryan argues that it makes more sense to own

2:18.6

an electric vehicle now than ever before. There are so many advantages to an electric vehicle.

2:24.4

It's easier. You don't have to go to a gas station once a week. You start with a full charge.

A lot of the impediments that prevented people from wanting to get an electric vehicle years ago
