When I think about how deep the trauma is going in Minneapolis right now, I think about

Dimitri Draconia.

Dimitri's a doctor, works at the Minneapolis VA.

He studies infectious disease. He's not a protest guy. He's not in those signal chats you've been hearing about. But the surge of federal

agents into his city, he has been feeling it. Like I run to and from work, and the other day there's

a deserted car up on a snow up on a snowbank. And you, you see it that in the, you know, kids who my son bikes with on a mountain bike team, like, yeah, I can't, like, you know, can't be out when ICE is around because I'm an immigrant and I've got brown skin and I'm worried they're going to grab me and, you know, have me in custody for a couple of days until they sort out that I'm actually, you know, legal here. Your kids' friends are actually saying that to each other? Yeah. Yep. So, Dimitri's been going along with this weird simulacrum of normal for weeks. But he still has to do everything else in his life. His kids still have to get to

school. They've got sports. This weekend, Dimitri was at a ski racing event for one of them

when news started to spread. One of the other parents said, do you hear there was another shooting,

then there was a lot of sort of like, this is just heavy, awful.

Some sort of gills about here we are

at a ski race while this shit is going down

in our city.

And then got back from the race.

We're on a group chat and

someone said,

ICE executed Alex Prattie.

Dimitri knows Alex Prattie.

They used to work together.

I had seen one of the videos, like, half, you know,

trepidation of wanting to watch, like, is this going to be something I don't even want to watch,

but also wanted to see, like, what is going on here? And, you know, it's not, you can't see,
