For Carrie, going to court is a powerful tool. But for years, she's been frustrated by what she can't do.

My firm, I started in 2014 and, you know, over the years years I can't count how many times we've had to turn somebody away

from getting justice against their offender just simply because it was outside the statute of limitations.

It's a cruel thing because it takes many years especially for victims of trauma to be ready and stable enough

to want to confront their abuser.
