0:10.8	life and message of Elizabeth Allian. And she called us to live to a higher standard
0:16.4	each day. In this series, we'll continue to hear from Elizabeth's family, friends, and
0:22.2	others who are influenced by our life and message. We continue our extended series about
0:27.9	Operation Alka and other events during Elizabeth's time in Ecuador. We'll hear about the
0:34.1	realized will of God and how God grants our hearts desires. What was the verse that Elizabeth
0:42.1	gave when reporters wanted to know about what had happened in Ecuador? We'll hear about
0:48.5	that and also we'll hear from Dr. Tom Howard, one of the brothers of Elizabeth. He'll
0:54.2	talk about laughter, books, about accents, and more. That coming up later on this program.
1:01.9	Well, let's get to our Gateway to Joy broadcast and titled The Realized Will of God. Today's
1:09.4	programs are both from February of 1989, originally. And there have been some milestones that you
1:16.6	are longing for and then you hit those milestones. Things finally worked out the way you wanted.
1:23.4	Why was Jim excited about five different gifts that came within 24 hours and was he really on his
1:32.4	way to Ecuador? You are loved with an everlasting love. That's what the Bible says and underneath are the
1:39.8	everlasting arms. This is your friend, Elizabeth Elliott, talking with you this time about the realized
1:47.5	will of God. There are times in life when we feel we've arrived. An important event has taken place.
1:56.2	We've gone off to college at last. We've passed an exam. We've qualified for this professor's
2:04.8	course. We've graduated. Marriage, perhaps. The job that you've dreamed of having. We've reached
2:14.9	certain goals. Our dreams are realized. Things are working as we had hoped at last. And if
2:23.0	here is old as I am now, you can look back on many such times, but you can also see that each is
2:29.0	only a stage on the journey. This too will pass is good news when things are going badly.
2:37.8	It's bad news when things are going as you want them to. The good things will pass too.
